The Faith-ling......
It has been quite a while since I first started putting pen to paper about my faith and expectations of God. If I recall correctly that could be as far as back as 2005/2004. More than a decade ago I was what one may call a drifting flotsam or more to the point a ''jettisoned'' jetsam.
I had in no less than half a decade before that given up the drive for a third level qualification in the study of technology. In the year 1999, when it seemed after an elongated study, I would not be qualifying as a bachelor in science degree holder in the Mechanical engineering discipline, I suddenly fell into mishap.
Amongst other misfortune, I was unable to meet the requirement of the degree and I subsequently fell into a nervous break down. Of-course this nervous mental ill health did not happen over night. It started with chronic pain in the body and high blood pressure, which I wasn't even checking regularly.
Fast forward to 2005, I was now looking not only inwardly but also upwardly. I had a logical inference from what I reckon was the only explanation reasonable enough to deduce the creation of the Universe.
I reckoned that the complexity and order as well as the intricacy with which the universe was formed could only mean that there was only one such power or Universal wisdom that could have had the Universe to be created......or could have created the Universe.
Even if it was a big bang, there was a source or a power behind the big bang that created the Universe. And it was this power I called God. It is this source I called God.
The Bible says that God is a Spirit and we must worship him in spirit and in truth.
- John, chapter 4 verse 24
The Bible also teaches that man is a spirit being. - Job, chapter 7 verse 11
- Acts, chapter 7 verse 59
But being that we can see the man, but we cannot see his spirit, we find it hard to reconcile that man is a spirit. We can see him.
God is a spirit, we can't see God. But can see him if we are holy and God chooses to reveal himself to us.
- Hebrews, chapter 12 verse 14
But the Bible teaches that man was also made in the image of God
- Genesis, chapter 1 verse 26 - 27
This logically means we (man) look like God.
I think here lies A TRUTH, that man finds hard to understand: that we look like God.
But recall, we said God is a spirit and Man is a spirit (being). We can see man, but we cannot see God.
So, how apart from the scriptures, do we reconcile that man looks like God.
Apparently we cannot reconcile this without the Bible and our faith. I mean apart from the scriptures we can only reconcile that man looks like God, with our faith; our faith in the word that man was made in the image of God.
- Genesis, chapter 1 verse 26 - 27
Here lies in part: my faith-ling.
